- Rock Beach (Promenade): The social heart of Pondicherry. People-watch, eat street food, enjoy the breeze.

Cafe des Arts (Wi-Fi and excellent coffee), Maison Perumal (heritage hotel with outstanding courtyard restaurant), and Le Club (French bistro on the seafront) are ideal spots to journal, read, and meet fellow travellers.
